Sorry for the drought.
Things will be normal around here as soon as possible. At the same time, what's there to discuss? WB's pushing everyone in supporting for "The Departed," "The Good German" is beginning to receive a strange "not so much" wave, "Notes on a Scandal" is going to start rolling out more and more in the coming weeks and, as you can see, Oscar ads are flying about with a vibrant agression. Act accordingly.
Stay tuned for Gerard's latest "Tech Support" column.

I hope it won't happen, but I actually feel "Babel" falling off the main cathegory. The nature of the project requires an ocean of raving reviews to turn the movie a shoo-in, but this is not what both MetaCritic and RottenTomatoes tell us. What about your feelings, Kris?

I agree, it's in trouble. I think Little Miss Sunshine is threatening hard now on top of it.

I agree with both of you that the film is sliding. but i do think that Inaritu still has a very good shot at the sole directing slot. you think that's accurate kris?

They're pushing DiCaprio for supporting as well? He must be good in Blood Diamond then, as he's easily the best thing about The Departed.

Agreed, eraserhead.

I don't think so. I really believe Paul Greengrass at the sole directing slot. But in case of double sole directing slot(Frears and Dayton/Faris off), Iñárritu could get in.

I agree "Little Miss Sunshine" is looking better by the day. It's assured BFCA, Globe, WGA and SAG Ensemble nods, not to mention Independent Spirit love up the wazoo and loads of top ten citations. And it's so damn lovable filled with actors everyone likes.
I'd go so far as to put it right behind "Dreamgirls," "The Departed" and "The Queen."
