I thought Shutter Island was coming out in '09...

Woah, you're right. I had a brain fart thinking it was releasing October 2008. Adjusted.

Uh, just so you know, Nicole Kidman dropped out of the Reader some time ago and Kate Winslet has replaced her.
Posted by: Bing147 | February 25, 2008 10:25 AM
Uh, thanks. Old chart I haven't updated.

Funny, I was going to suggest Russell Crowe for Body of Lies. I've read an early draft of Monahan's script and Crowe WILL steal the movie. His character is like a mix between Wahlberg and Baldwin's character in The Departed.
Kris, no love for The Lovely Bones? Or is that a '09 release?
Posted by: Mr. Gittes | February 25, 2008 10:38 AM
Hey Kris, I like your predix, particularly the one for Hamlet 2 in Screenplay. How great would it be if Elisabeth Shue got a nom for playing herself? =D.
One thing though...why is Farmiga listed in Best Actress? IMDb seems to be hinting Beckinsale is the lead in that film. Do you know something they don't?
Posted by: Cinemaniac | February 25, 2008 11:49 AM
Yeah, I guess I do. According to the horse's mouth, Rod Lurie, Vera Farmiga is the lead.

That actually makes me happier, so thanks. I've been eager to see Vera get nominated for 2 years. It's a shame that the Down to the Bone win at LAFCA never materialized. Same goes for Langella this past year. Hm, let's hope both get their due.

So what parts do Farmiga and Beckinsale each play?
Posted by: Cinemaniac | February 25, 2008 12:29 PM
Actually..scratch all that. Wikipedia says it does center around Kate, the reporter. Vera plays the CIA agent.

Maybe co-leads?...I'd think Beckinsale would stay lead and Farmiga would go supporting though.

All I can tell you is that it came from the director. If something changes, it changes.

Fair enough. Either way, I'd love to see it happen. It sounds like a good film.
If I came off incredibly hyper, I blame the double dose of aspirin o.O.
