Predictions...
Been a slow week. Even the Variety blog has suffered. I never got around to typing out another prediction column this week, but the trusty asterisks have been updated accordingly in the sidebar. I'm kind of being lulled into the whole "No Country" stampede, but I don't know. It doesn't feel right.
Gerard will have a column up later today, speaking of "No Country." It'll be with the sound technicians behind the flick. Stay tuned for that.

I'm not a big fan of NO COUNTRY, but at this point,
there really isn't a good reason to bet against it.
I'm pulling for THERE WILL BE BLOOD, and I hope it wins, but...
Also, I'm not sure why, but I have the feeling Transformers might only get a split in the two sound categories. Nothing to base that on, however.
Just a feeling.
Wouldn't it be something if Hal Holbrook, and Ruby Dee both won in the supporting categories??

The momentum of NCFOM is unstoppable (PGA, DGA, SAG etc...). At this stage, it would be fair to say that this film already has the Oscar in its bag.
