Didn’t Entourage jump the shark years ago? I couldn’t get through Season Five, and barely through 4.

Did anyone read “Julie & Julia”? It was pretty dreadful. Not enough cooking, too much whining from the author about how hard her life is. Plus, the book is written in an irritating stream-of-conscious style that probably worked well for a blog, but not a book.

I’ve heard that the movie beefs up Julia Child’s part and cuts down on Julie’s role, which can only help.

James: Honestly, I have been on board every single season. I could tell it was alienating more than a few people, but it was still working for me. Maybe it has something to do with being out here, in this culture. I don’t know. But I guess it’s wearing off for me now.

That makes sense Kris. The appeal to me was Drama and his ridiculousness, but it seems less authentic now. And the fact that they always pull out of whatever problems they get into kind of dilutes the suspense of the problem.

This new season of Entourage is pretty bad so far. Last season was saved by the “Smoke Jumpers” plot and Stellan Skarsgard’s performance. We all agreed, I think, when Entourage took swipes at, say, Shia LaBeouf, but the comments made about Seth Rogen in the latest episode seemed to underscore just how misguided Entourage is right now. Most people like Seth Rogen and believe he’s talented, Mr. Ellin.

The Seth Rogen bashing was just mean spirited.

I’m interested in seeing what the problems are this season, as the four leads are all doing better now than they’ve ever been. Lloyd’s 100 day task and the wonderful Cole-Piven banter is a million times more interesting.

And I better get footage from Gatsby. The Entourage fake movie footage is always SO bad/wonderful.

Entourage still works for me and I loved Sundays episode. Did anyone who saw Knocked Up not say to themselves right off the bat- would a guy who looked like Seth Rogen get Katherine Heigel. I know I did and still do when it comes on HBO. Many people I know asked that same question after they saw it. Im surprised that Rogen would publically admit he is offended. I mean he does do comedy. Part of the business is taking shots at people.
How is Entourage jumping the shark this season?

Sure, plenty of people did … when it came out two years ago. I mean seriously, that was the best joke they could come up with? Regurgitating an observation that was made by just about every single film blogger two years ago?

I’m glad that people are finally seeing this show for what it is, a shallow, insubstantial comedy, a male version of “Sex and the City.” That’s not to say there isn’t a place for that kind of show, but I was always kind of bothered by people elevating it to “Best comedy on television” status.

alynch- After giving it thought, the fact that they used the Rogen joke thoughout the episode it was clearly a personal shot at him. Since I don’t know Rogen personally it made me laugh. When I watch a show like Entourage Im not looking for high art or a life changing experience. I just want to be entertained and the show does that for me. Whats wrong with just being entertained.
Even though the joke might be two years old it still worked. Rogen is still relevant so why not.
If Rogen thought that was insulting he should understand how many people feel about him starring in The Green Hornet.
Now thats what I call an insult.

People called Entourage the best comedy on television? If they have HBO, how do these people miss Curb Your Enthusiasm?
