While I admit that’s a worry (I’ve been predicting her too) I don’t quite understand why some people are SO vehement in being against that prediction. People have been going on about that one for months as if they have a personal stake in it not happening.
It’s very tricky to explain the limitations of Mortimer’s role (at least, as it stands in the novel) without going into spoiler territory. But I will say that Michelle Williams has the meatier part.
Can’t say I’m anticipating this film, but even mediocre Scorsese is at least entertaining. For now, I’ll keep my expectations low in the hopes of a pleasant surprise.
Why on Earth would “Shutter Island” get an avant-garde poster? What exactly about that movie says “avant-garde”?
Guy, I like the tagline too. It’s not lazy since the general idea of the movie is that there is indeed someone missing. It’s simple, yes, but to the point and mysterious.

This is going to be a lot better than people think.
Hmm, loved the trailer but this poster…well at least it keeps up the pulpy thriller-ness.
I liked the “Who is patient 67?” tag-line better.
Can’t wait for this. The only thing that causes me to pause: Laeta Kalogridis.
I’m not sure if “Who is patient 67?” had much intrigue for those unacquainted with the novel. This is a step up, I think.
As for Laeta Kalogridis, I kind of loved “Night Watch,” so I’m in.
Anyone notice the striking similarity to the poster for Scorsese’s Cape Fear. Very close, though not identical.
Can’t wait for this one!!!!!!
scorsesse makes great movies, not great posters, and this isnt bad, out of all the movies coming out this year I have the most faith in this one

I totally agree. My main concern is quality of the film not the poster.
With Scorsese and the cast he has assembled, I don’t need a poster to make me excited about this film ,
the name of emily mortimer is missing. why ? screen time limited ?

Oh, but nice poster! Loving the gothic horror of it and the fact they have deliberately kept it very genre.

I hate lazy taglines.

I guess I’m alone in liking the tagline, then.
Not a big fan of the poster…I was hoping for something a little more…avant-garde?
