Fox Searchlight gave People Magazine the exclusive on this new poster for “Amelia.” Unfortunately, the outlet couldn’t be bothered with including a link to a high resolution version (I imagine they received one), so the muted effect of the following image is the fanfare that greets last year’s Oscar victor’s 2009 awards season hopeful. Strike that. Searchlight sent over a high-res version:

Wow, that’s not the aviatrix costume I imagined. The fitting on that is all wrong. It makes her look short. I do like the “font” for the “A” doubling as a scarf.

Ugh I totally agree, AmericanRequiem. The same could probably be said to a lesser extent of Nine, but most everyone in there ALREADY has an Oscar, so that just seems like more of a fun romp.
And, as has been said repeatedly before, I will be ill if Hilary Swank hits three Oscars before Meryl Streep.

Beautiful, with a gorgeously vivid red strikingly set up against the muted blue skies. Very much looking forward to this one!

Horrible. Swank looks like a 12 year old boy in its pajamas.

jajaja it’s true. This looks so boring. I just want to see this movie losing awards all around the table. Let’s bring movies with real heart and creativity. Let’s bring District 9, Moon, Where the Wild Things Are, 500 Days of Summer. I’ve not seen any of those movies, but they look a million times better than these so-typical biopic movie.

Oh, don’t worry, Mike_M, I’m probably anticipating Nine more than Avatar or anything else at year end just for bounteous amount of talent involved. I was saying that either Amelia or, to a lesser extent, Nine have the potential to be the big anticipated year-end Oscar spectacle that ends up burning out come awards time a la Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Sorry but she doesn’t have the body of a 12-year old boy, god I’m tired of those people who think women should have wide hips just because their wife’s butt is the size of Belgium

Haven’t been impressed by anything in this movie’s advertising campaign. This included. I’ll see it, but it’s LOW on my radar.
