By now we’ve seen two versions of the poster for Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island,” each of them quite similar and not altogether appealing. Then I saw this Japanese version and thought, “That’s what I’m talkin’ about’”:

By the way, there’s a Japanese trailer for the film up at the official Japanese site.

Wow, that looks like a poster for some 1970s Asian film that would have Tarantino geeking out. Well done.

Now that has the disconcerting feel that I think the film will evoke. Obviously unlike US and Britain Leonardo DiCaprio will not be that big of a sell in Japan, so he’s not on the poster.

Leo is still a draw in Japan. The Japanese distributor and their art department pushed further. I love the color scheme.

That’s spooky. Saw another review on slashfilm. This is looking good. Acting looking better. This isn’t your typical commercial looking poster for a flick.

So I finally read this book last night and, while I seriously enjoyed the material, this is going to be a really scary movie. My female creepiness/mild terror-detector kicked in fairly quickly.

Much better than ours. Very creepy.
And just FYI…the link goes to IMDB’s Christmas Carol page.

That I don’t know what it says makes it even creepier.

Agree with you, this one’s waaay better than the US versions.
What a difference a cut out *beeping* floating head can make…
