Carey Mulligan on Letterman

Posted by Kristopher Tapley · 12:20 pm · October 8th, 2009

I love that Paul and the band played “Hot For Teacher” as she walked out.  She handled herself well, I thought.  But, let’s face it — it’s difficult not to think of Letterman’s scandal given the plot of the film.  Speaking of which, I think Letterman totally spoils the film toward the end (and a little in the beginning).  Tom O’Neil has just posted an assessment of the appearance and Mulligan’s place in the race.

Anyway, here it is — Carey Mulligan’s first talk show appearance ever:

I would have liked Letterman to mention Never Let Me Go instead of Wall Street 2 but I wasn’t surprised. I don’t really think the film will be great (since the book’s strength is Kathy’s narration) but I am really excited about watching Carey and Keira together!!

About, the spoiler. Yes, he shouldn’t have said that but the ending was predictable. Not that it mattered to me.

@jim T: both movies’ scripts were mediocre at best although “money never sleeps” held my attention while “never let me go” lulled me to sleep.

carey is my new girl crush. i just hope the rumors of her extracirricular activities involving my shiapet are false.

Kris, I want to watch the interview, but I want to skip over the spoiler sections. At what times should I start and stop?

Am I the only who thinks she looks super fragile? I get the feeling she is going to cry.

    Carey definitely is a cutie.

I love the irony of the lustful older man in “An Education” being name David…
