    This year is interesting because nothing so far looks like a winner. Precious, Up in the Air and The Hurt Locker each are called frontrunners by different people, and the latter is certanly a good movie (haven`t seen other two yet). But they share the front-runner status meaning that neither is quite the winner type. Invictus, Bones and Nine aren`t getting front-runner buzz either. So it`s up to unseen movies to either change the game in the sense that one movie will create the bandwaggon of support or this Oscar season the winner won`t be easy to predict until the winner is pronounced.

    Didn’t Glenn also fall into the tank for Gran Torino as well? Sure it was a fun, but had many problems, and was not nearly as good as some thought (in my opinion of course).

    A documentary called “Ballybrando” will be shown on Irish television screens over the Christmas. A load of the crew went back to Ballycotton to talk to the locals about the failed film

    Lol, Tom O’Neil is not looking so stupid after all. Still kind of dumb, but there is a narrow, improbable path to victory for Inglourious Basterds now.

    I’m a bit dissapointed that “Fantastic Mr. Fox” isn’t getting as much Best Animated Feature buzz as it should be. I think it’s easily one of the top 5 films I’ve seen so far this year. Doesn’t the academy like stop-motion animation too?

    Mr. Fox isn’t getting the box-office income it should, but the critics are all praising it. I would definitely expect a nominee for Best Animated Picture.
