New ‘Australia’ trailer

I decided to wait on posting this until it landed on YouTube or some other embeddable format.

I’ve been hearing some good things about Hugh Jackman’s performance all along, but for some reason, he’s never cracked my Best Actor chart.  It’s a crowded field, but anyway, this is a great trailer.  I’m a Baz supporter through and through, and I’ve been told this isn’t the straight-up epic it appears to be from the materials released so far.  It isn’t Baz restraining his vision for the sake of a style of film he hasn’t tackled yet; it is very much a “Baz Luhrmann film,” so to speak, with his panache and sense of humor tossed in throughout.

    Nothing new, JAB, but a column is likely. I don’t have any new predictions beyond maybe finding a spot for Josh Brolin in the best actor chart. There just hasn’t been enough to go on in a while.

    It looks as epic as we expected. But let’s not judge too early on the trailer be it good or bad. But is sure will have its supporters.

    Is the music in the beginning from Explosions in the Sky?

    I love Explosions in the Sky, that won me over to the trailer right away.

    Wow. You’re right, the chemistry looks good, It looks like there might be a nice blend of drama and lighter moments too. And I have to say – Hugh Jackman looks …perfect.
