David Fincher’s “The Social Network,” from a script by Aaron Sorkin, could be a big contender in this year’s race. More often than not, Sony seems to chance into an Oscar competition, but this one, from producer Scott Rudin, might tap into something special. A new website has launched for the film, featuring artwork that is kinda/sorta a poster. Check out the full image after the jump.

You’re missing the blue “Facebook” banner on the left side! Did you purposefully cut it?
Wow… idiot. RIGHT side.
As a child of the technology era, I am really excited for this.
Everyone knows this is the facebook movie. I think the blue facebook bar on the side is overkill.
Otherwise I really like it.
Very interesting… This is one I’m really intrigued by, and I love the “poster”.
Alex: You say “everyone,” but you’re really talking about the select few who frequent sites like this and keep up with projects from the pre-production stage. I know any number of people to whom this title would mean absolutely nothing.
Let me rephrase. What I meant was: it’s enough that this movie is about Facebook and will be associated with Facebook. It cheapens the poster slightly that whoever made this poster decided to include several pieces of Facebook ‘iconography’. It almost looks like some sort of cross promotion. The reference could have been more oblique.
I do love the image though. I might be reading too much into this but the inclusion of an actual Facebook ‘like’ button on the website is very ‘Fincheresque’ in its dark humor.
this poster makes me want to see this movie now. its amazing how quickly a good poster can make my opinion change. I know its a bit of judging a book by its cover, but i don’t care. Plus that jessie Eisenberg is one of my fav. actors.
I wonder if the

vibe I’m getting is intentional.
I’ve no idea what the story is, or what makes it compelling enough for Oscar. Maybe I missed something.
I cut it on purpose because it’s not really a poster with it. Too wide.
Oh, and I’m sorry if I missed this earlier, but is “The Accidental Billionaires” gonna get a Page to Screen column?
It seems like it’s not much of a poster without the blue bar. That’s the element that makes it unique.
Nice to see Eisenburg getting leading man parts in a Twilight-obsessed Hollywood.
Does anyone know when we’ll be seeing a trailer?
This is the kind of film that will be either brilliant or a flop. No mid-term.
