Nothing spectacular. This poster is a disappointment from a director who created the Red Curtain trilogy.

er, that’s the British poster right? Because the Australian one has been out for a while and I don’t think I could handle this being pushed back to Boxing Day.

Uh, no. The font they used for the stars’ names made it look like a paperback romance novel. And I wish it was a little more subtle.

It’s Luhrmann, Eunice. Subtlety isn’t on the menu.

I actually kind of wish they’d done a bit more with the poster, and gone for a full 1940’s style throwback design, with drawing instead of photography. This one feels a bit compromised.

I imagine there’ll be a special edition DVD with that very sort of design. That’s where all the truly radical design work for movies comes into play.

Thanks, Guy. :) *palm to forehead* I honestly actually forgot that this was the guy who did ‘Moulin Rouge’ and ‘Romeo+Juliet’. So subtlety is hardly a concept to Luhrmann.

And I agree. Drawing would have been better than photography. This just looks… forced.
