NUTSHELL: Beyond general housekeeping, there isn’t much to discuss on the tech category front this time around. The decision to open the Best Picture category up to 10 nominees doesn’t really move the needle here much. “Green Zone” is looking more and more like a 2010 release, so the film has dropped on a number of charts for that reason. “Chéri” opened to disappointing reviews, but the art direction and costume design categories have proven critic-proof time and again. All eyes, as usual, are on “Avatar” and we’ll be paying close attention to the critical and popular opinions of “Public Enemies,” which could still prove formidable in a number of these races.
