Dario Marianelli is going to win the Oscar walking away...
That was the best score I've heard this year, one of those musical accompaniments that almost transcends the film itself, like the work John Williams put into "Schindler's List." Simply amazing.
Definitely a lock. I'd have to say that Marianelli might have some competition in Jonny Greenwood. His score has been singled out in every review of "There Will Be Blood" that I've read.

When are you gonna write a review for "Atonement". I thought it was the best film of the year, and would love to know what you think. Agreed on Marianelli, by the way.

I think it will be Marianelli v. Desplat (TGC).

I guess I'm not as well informed as I thought... I'm almost afraid to ask...
for which film will he be winning the Oscar? 'cause if you say there's a soundtrack out there that's the equivalent of Schindler's list, I'm on m way out the door to the store!

Has anyone even heard Desplat's score for "The Golden Compass?" I think if Desplat is recognized it will be for his gorgeous score to "Lust, Caution."
