Critics in the UK obviously aren’t immune to the charms of “Boyhood,” as the film did well with the London Film Critics Circle and now, the Dublin Film Critics Circle has named it the year’s best.

“Gravity ” was the top choice of the Dublin Film Critics’ Circle, for whom “12 Years a Slave” was ineligible. An unusual range of runners-up, meanwhile, ranges from “What Maisie Knew” to Brady Corbet.

If you thought we had escaped the year of “The Artist,” you were wrong. The Dublin Film Critics Circle has chosen Michel Hazanavicius’s Best Picture winner as the year’s best film, as it opened on those shores in 2012. It joins Michael Haneke, Joaquin Phoenix, Emmanuelle Riva and more for top honors this year.

The Dublin Film Critics Circle is the latest critics group to name year-end superlatives, and “Drive” was clearly a favorite, taking Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor. Jessica Chastain won Best Actress for her performance in “The Tree of Life.”
