IPA does not see 'Wolf of Wall Street,' nominates it for five Satellite Awards anyway

The annual (questionable if harmless) Satellite Award nominations stuck out today when “The Wolf of Wall Street” was mentioned throughout. The film landed five nominations. But has the IPA seen it? After all, it’s only screened for guilds and HFPA so far. Turns out, at least according to the studio, no, they haven’t.

Paramount Pictures has launched a new app for the iPad that celebrates the studio’s landmark 100th anniversary this year. The 100 Years of Movie Magic app “is an exploration of the studio’s incredibly rich and storied history,” the iTunes blurb reads. Every studio should do something like this.

The Academy to screen Technicolor restoration of first-ever Best Picture winner 'Wings'

William A. Wellman’s “Wings,” which won the first Oscar for Best Picture in 1929, has been fully restored and is ready for its close-up again. The Academy will screen the film with live music accompaniment next month as part of Paramount Pictures’ 100th anniversary.

Paramount announces first ever digital streaming program for awards season contenders

Paramount PIctures has announced a new program to screen its awards contenders via digital screeners. The Visual Effects Society will be the guinea pigs and a wide-ranging trio of films will be the first out of the gate.
