Despite critics furiously protesting its exclusion from the Oscar longlist, Steve James’s “The Interrupters” has been largely sidelined on the precursor circuit thus far. So it took the Cinema Eye Honors to right that wrong. Other films honored by them include “Pina,” “Senna” and “Tabloid.”

The International Documentary Association has crowned “Nostalgia for the Light” as this year’s Best Documentary. Meanwhile, the Producers Guild has announced its slate of nominees.
